A pair of Chinese famille rose turquoise ground vases, Qing Dynasty, 19th century
Of ovoid form with lobed rims, the neck applied with lion dogs, the shoulders applied with chilong, painted in colours with brightly coloured phoenix birds amid peonies, pomegranates and foliage against a turquoise ground, 36cm high (one rim repaired). (2)

Condition Report

One vase has a quarter section of the rim broken and re-glued. There are three further chips to the rim edge. Some minor misfiring to the enamel around the chilong on the shoulder. The other is in good conditoon with some minor enamel wear to the rim and some minor misfiring to the enamel around the chilong on the shoulder.
