A Large Chinese Glazed Pottery Storage Jar, Han

A large Chinese green-glazed red pottery storage jar, Hu

Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD)

Of ovoid shape with everted collared rim, the shoulder applied with various exotic beasts and archaistic faux handles between raised 'bow string' borders, all under a rich dark green glaze now largely oxidised.

Condition Report

Some chipping and glaze flaking to the rim. Almost all of the glaze has oxidised to a silvery grey colour. Obvious signs of age throughout.
