An Imperial Russian plate of the First Imperial Grenadier Guards
Imperial Porcelain Manufactory St. Petersburg - Period of Alexander II 1855-81
painted in colour enamels with officers and all ranks of the First Imperial Grenadier Guards Division, after a painting by Midian, with pale lilac enamel border over-painted with laurel wreath tied at the base with a gilded ribbon, top of shelf finely painted with Imperial Russian double-headed eagle,
dated 1871, printed green cypher mark 'Czar Alexander 11', painting title in black cyrillic script, date in black enamel '71'
23.5cm diameter (some rubbing to gilding, rim chip restored)

Condition Report

Two rim chips at 3 o'clock and 7 o'clock have been professionally restored. Some rubbing and scratching to the paintwork in the central well. General wear and rubbing to the gilded edge and foot rim from age/handling. Please see images.
