NIGHTINGALE, Florence (1820-1910), nursing pioneer. Autograph letter signed, 30 August 1865, Oakhill Park, Hampstead, to J W Cooper. She asks for the separate cost of the washing establishment at Herdert (?) Hospital, Paris. She notes the hospital had cost £209,200. "If I mistake not their washing Establ. 'does' for the garrison as well... It quite tallies with [M. Husson's] customs at Paris, when one Washing Est. washed for the whole of the hospitals, but would not be charged to any one hospital" One and a half sides with integral blank.
