A rare Chinese celadon five-spouted vase

Daoguang seal mark and of the period

The elegant globular body rising to four cylindrical necks flanking a taller central neck, raised on a spreading foot ring, decorated with an even sea-green glaze with white slip painted motifs of precious objects.

Five-spouted or five-necked vases are unusual but found in various forms and glazes. For a similar example of Qianlong period see Sotheby's Important Chinese Art, 13 May 2015, lot 149 and for an example in a tea dust glaze see lot 192 in the same auction.

Condition Report

Two of the shorter spouts have fine hairlines. There is a very small dint to the underside foot rim. Please refer to images.
