circa 1821-23
of shape, each pot applied with three bands of beaded white pearls, decorated with panels of brightly painted shells and coral, the reverses gilded with formal grotesque motifs including birds and baskets, painted 'Spode' in iron red and marked with pattern number 3236,
11.5cm high and 16cm high (3)

Provenance: With H.Blairman, purchased in May 1928 for £27.10s. Exhibited: Spode-Copeland 1765-1965, Frankfurt 1965, catalogue fig.37, also Spode Bicentenary Exhibition 1970, no.290. Illustrated by Leonard Whiter, Spode (1970), pl.279. Sold in 2013 at Bonhams Trelissick House Sale, lot 554.

Condition Report
One of the smaller pair of vases shows signs of professional restoration to small sections of the upper and lower rim - or at the very least, the gilt in those areas has been touched up. Otherwise, the vases appear in original order with only very minimal rubbing to the gilt and no further signs of any restorations or damages. Please see additional images.
