A set of 11, late 19th century, walnut dining chairs, hide covered and close-nailed, the rectangular backs with countersunk carrying handles on the top rails, overstuffed seats and turned and block-type legs, with tapering, fluted central sections, united by ‘H’ stretchers, terminating in brass caps and castors, caps stamped ‘Copes Patent’ and stamped ‘Gillow 9404’ on back legs, minor chips, dents and scratches (11) £1,000-1,500

Condition Report
Minor chips, dents and scratches, consistent with age and use. Some lacking the odd screw for their caps. Some with faded show-wood, including three with faded back legs. One with badly chewed stretchers. Some with surface patination very worn in places, including rails and stretchers.
