A French gilt brass mantel clock

A French gilt brass mantel clock, circa 1890-1900, with vase finial and moulded ring handles, the case cast with neoclassical mouldings and raised on four acanthus moulded feet, the 4-inch (10cm) off-white enamel dial having black Arabic numerals around a gilt metal pierced centre roundel, the eight day Japy Freres movement striking on a bell, numbered 17903 with matching number to pendulum, 39.5cm high.

Condition Report

Case fair to good with some surface scratches and wear to plates. Moulded elements are good with some minor wear to gilding. Dial appears good. Movement winds, runs and strikes but not tested for timekeeping or longevity.
