A Weir-Raymond sewing machine in wood carrying case

A James Weir / Charles Raymond 'Globe' type hand-cranked sewing machine, circa 1872, in black finish with gilt and flower painted decoration, the bed stamped Ja's G. Weir, 2 Carlisle Street, Soho Sq., London, with walnut locking carrying case, 23cm high.

Condition Report

The crank wheel has a small section of the rim re-stuck. Replaced screw on pressure bar lifter. Replaced screw beneath bed. Chipping to paint around the edge of the bed. Gilt rubbed in places. Machine does crank and run but not tested with thread etc.
