A German Third Reich DRK visor cap (Deutsche Rote Kreuz - German Red Cross)
constructed of dark grey wool with a grey centre band and three rows of light grey truppenfarbe (branch colour) piping for the DRK and a black leather chinstrap, the interior with a brown oilcloth lining, clear celluloid protection diamond with markings for 'Fr. Buckenmayer / Hochingen / Stirndruckfrei Deutsches Reichspatent' and further stampings in red to the interior liner
In December 1937 the DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) gained status as a legally recognized organization by the NSDAP. As with other essential services in Third Reich Germany, it came under control of the NSDAP.
