A Chinese export lacquer tray, Qing Dynasty, early 19th century
Of lobed rectangular form, the centre decorated in gilt with vignettes of figures amid buildings and trees around a central monogram 'TH', the rim with confronting dragons chasing flaming pearls amid clouds, 75cm x 55cm

Condition Report

Chips, flaking and losses to lacquer in several places around the rim edge. Further flakes and losses to the back. Cracks to the verge on the right hand side and two small cracks to the verge on the left hand side. General light surface wear to the gilt decoration throughout but not wholly disfiguring.
