An Aesthetic Movement Burgess and Leigh cheese dish and stand
circa 1891
transfer-printed in underglaze brown with animals and Fable verses, including 'The Sly Fox', 'Chalk and Cheese' and 'Welsh Rabbits', printed and impressed Registration Number '172867', overall height 14.5cm high

Condition Report
Cheese keep and base with crazing all over to the glaze. The base, in particular, has some dark brown staining to centre and the edges that makes the crazing more noticable (to both sides), alongside an underside rim chip to two corners.

The cheese cover itself is in a good condition with no damages or repairs.
