Late 19th century, of oval section, with gilt brass mounts inset with shell cameos carved with neoclassical maidens, raised on chain-link feet, the hinged cover opening to a velvet-lined interior, with key.

One cameo missing a sliver to the top. Another cameo has a hairline crack. A little shrinkage to the tortoiseshell in places. Cover chain-link edging loose adjacent to the hinge on one side.
