An electroplated metal tray with 12 Regiment Royal Artillery inscription
circa 1906-14
of circular form with a moulded and pierced gallery outer border, the tray raised on four pierced claw feet and engraved with a Greek Key outer border and foliage scrolling inner border reserving 'RHA' XII gothic script monogram below a crown, 48cm diameter, otherwise unmarked
XII Brigade was first formed on 1 March 1901 as the II Brigade-Division, V Battery and W Battery. In 1903 it was redesignated as II Brigade and was stationed at Woolwich. On 1 October 1906, it was redesignated as XII Brigade before ultimately being dissolved during World War I as its constituent batteries were posted to other formations.
