A Victorian Special Constable constabulary truncheon, painted with a crowned V.R motif above initials S.C on a lacquered ground above a turned ribbed handle, brass mounted and stamped W.C Browns Patent, Deptford.S, 42 cm long.

Condition Report
In generally sound order with no considerable damage or splits. 
Very dark - possibly nicotine stained. 
Some minor chips to the paintwork throughout - the brightness of the gilding is revealed beneath the outer lacquer in these places.
The spinning brass cap to the grip base is possibly a later addition.
