A scarce German Third Reich Schutzpolizei d. Gemeinden Officer's visor cap (Municipal Protection Police) by Erel
with three rows of deep wine red piping and a brown centreband, affixed with metal police eagle and a tri-colour cockade, the silver officer's chincord suspended by a single silver button to either side, interior lined in a tan rayon with kite-shaped rhomboid celluloid, manufacturers markings still visible but indistinct, with a pierced tan leather sweatband
Notes: The Schutzpolizei d. Gemeinden was a small city branch of the police that was hired by small towns not already assigned Schutzpolizei protection. As a small force that was ultimately merged into the Schutzpolizei, these caps are hard to find.
