A George IV rosewood revolving drum table by Gillows of Lancaster
The plain circular top over a recessed frieze having four flush drawers, raised on a hexagonal section baluster column on a trefoil base raised on bun feet, 128.5cm wide x 73.5cm high, one drawer stamped Gillows Lancaster.

Footnote:A similar Gillows drum table was sold at Christie's South Kensington rooms, 3 November 2011, lot 40, but with a leather inset top. The shape of pedestal and base is nearly identical and features several times in Gillows estimate sketch books of the 1820s on similar drum-top library as well as loo tables. Another example can be found in the collection of Dunham Massey, Cheshire, with an octagonal top.

Condition Report
Generally good with some minor signs of age and use. A small veneer repair to the lower edge of the frieze adjacent to one of the drawers. A section of moulding to the pedestal adrift but present and intact (merely needs re-glueing). Minor cosmetic marks and scuffs to the base and feet. Drawer action is good. Revolving action is good and smooth.
