A scarce RAF Mk.2 Flying Suit survival knife by George Ibberson & Co, Sheffield, store reference AM22C/1996, stainless steel 10cm long blade, the hilt with spring lock mechanism to retain the blade in the metal scabbard, overall length 20.3cm; together with an RAF MK.3 flying suit knife, unmarked, overall length 20.5cm
Notes: The RAF Mk.2 Survival knife is much rarer than the more common Mk.3 examples, introduced in the 1970s. Both of these knives were used by the aircrew of all three services and also by the SAS.
