A walking stick gun or poacher's stick, with under hammer percussion action, mid-19th century, with club-shaped handle with a recess for possible attachment of a stock, overall length 87cm
John Day, famous for his walking stick guns, patented this mechanism in 1823. This type of weapon as popular in England and in the Continent. The gun is cocked and locked by pulling down the recessed hammer lever adjacent to the handle on the underside of the stick, revealing the trigger.

Condition of the interor the barrel is good with no obvious corrosion
The exterior of the barrel has some rust and pitting, and a few small dents
There is a crack through the metal strap on the handle
Some dings and scratches to wood
