Break Down is one of Michael Landy's (British Contemporary, Young British Artists) best known works. In 2001 he teamed up with Art Angel to carry out a radical art concept; the destruction of all of his personal possessions in a public space, totalling 7,227 items. The project took place in an empty shop in Oxford Street, London and each of his belongings were placed in yellow plastic trays on a conveyor belt to be destroyed. It took over 2 weeks to complete. To mark this accomplishment this poster was gifted by Art Angel to its members as a reward for their support.
