A Japanese Satsuma jar and cover by Taizan Yohei IX with decoration attributed to Kono Bairei, Taisho era, of ovoid form and finely painted in colours with butterflies amid flowers and foliage on a rich yellow ground within gilt complex borders, 31.5cm high.
