A rare Chinese cinnabar lacquer vase stand, late Qing Dynasty/Republic, the near square lobed top carved with three dragons chasing a flaming pearl amid roiling clouds, supported on a waist decorated with cell and lappet borders, above a shaped apron and four tapering cabriole legs, all carved with conforming dragons chasing flaming pearls, terminating in a low base formed by four shaped stretchers, 89cm high, 46cm wide and 39 deep. Footnote: A pair of similar lacquer stands were sold at Christie's Paris, 21-22 June 2016, lot 127.
