A very large Japanese Imari bowl, Meiji era
Probably a fish bowl, of rounded form with lobed rim, the outside decorated with panels of phoenix birds, prunus flowers and Buddhist symbols against mixed pattern bands, the interior with panels and swags of flowers and foliage around a central dragon.
26cm high, 36.5cm dia.

Hairline to the rim. Chip and hairline to the foot rim. Star crack to the underside. Rubbing to the gilt on the inside.
