Condition Report

The painting is an oil on canvas, the canvas having decent tension and no obvious signs of rips, tears or holes. The painting is signed AW and dated 1876 bottom left. There is a vertical scratch measuring 2cm to the lower left and a further scratch beneath the horse measuring 3cm long. There is scuffing a minor paint loss horizontally across the top edge. There is an abrasion above right of the horse's rear and bottom right. There is dirt throughout and some craquelure in the paint, no obvious signs of paint loss.
