Chinese carved hardwood marriage bed, late Qing Dynasty
Of enclosed canopy form, the arched facade with openwork carved cornice and carved, lacquered panels of immortals and other figures in landscapes, the panelled back and sides with openwork roundels inset with painted scenes of auspicious flowers and birds on a celadon ground, the carved frames with bat spandrels, raised on a panelled plinth on rectangular section supports.
