Condition Report

The dial movement and seatboard appear to be original to the case. The silvering to the dial is good with minor tarnishing. The brass dial plate has an even colour. The spandrels are bright, though the lower left-hand spandrel has been repaired with silver solder in the past and subsequently has discoloration to the gilt surface. The movement is complete and functions when pressure is applied to the great wheels. It is dusty and a will require a service before use. The anchor escapement is a Victorian replacement. The clock is sold with two brass-cased lead weights and its pendulum. The case has minor losses to the corner of the lower hood moulding. There are minor losses to the veneers and some old restoration where small losses around cracks along the door cleats and centre of the base panel have been filled and painted. The rear right-hand quarter column is detached. The base has a restored plinth and the sides to the base may have been re-veneered.
