with a yataghan blade, black pressed leather grips, steel crossguard, hooked "blade-breaker" quillon and a decorative ball finial, unit stampings to the quillon '25. 2. 289' (2nd Battalion, 25th Regiment), with 'GF', crowned double-head Austrian eagle and manufacturers markings 'Striberny' to the ricasso, with a full length 58cm long blade and an overall length of 71cm, housed in original steel scabbard
Notes: Many such models were shortened to conform with the length of the 1873 Pattern bayonets and unaltered examples are scarce.
