A late 19th-century arch-topped oak regulator by Lowe, Chester, the domed case has access doors to either side of the top and full glazed door over a square base with recessed panel and double ogee moulded plinth, the 12.5-inch signed silvered dial with silvered sight ring has the traditional regulator layout with outer minute circle and subsidiaries for the hours and seconds, and sits over a carved oak foliate apron, the large movement is supported by a stout cast iron bracket, has heavy plates united by six heavy screwed pillars, six-spoked wheels, fully jewelled dead-beat escapement and brass caps to all pivots, 210cm high
