Edgar Hunt was based in the Midlands, and exhibited a number of times at the Royal Society of Artists, Birmingham.As a young man he worked for a time on a farm near Lewes in Sussex.That experience encouraged a life-long interest in the depiction of farm animals, always accomplished with great realism and technical proficiency

Condition Report

Unexamined out of glazed frame, frame minor chips, dents and scratches.

Painting looks ok, apart from 1cm paint 'chip' to the left of the signature on the bottom edge and an ‘L’ form bubble above and tiny chips along the upper horizontal edge, but not examined out of frame and. Not re-lined. This is unlikely to have been restored.
