A late 19th-century mahogany arch-topped regulator by Hughes & Son, Llangollen. The case, with large glazed door is veneered with flame mahogany inside and out. The base has quartered veneers, moulded recessed panel and moulded plinth, the 14-inch signed painted iron dial has a regular domestic layout, with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, and blued steel hands, the movement has shouldered plates, six-spooked wheels, Harrison's maintaining power, and a dead-beat escapement, the dial sits behind a silvered sight ring with foliate carved mahogany frets below, 206cm high
