Colin Paul (1892-1985) was a French poster artist who spent much of his career working in the theatre world, creating posters, costumes and sets. He was a student of Eugene Vallin and Victor Prouve and partner of Josephine Baker. Paul's style is typically seen as Art Deco during his earlier years, gradually becoming much more individual and personal in nature. He is widely acknowledged as a master of the modern school in poster art.

Condition Report

Both pictures are framed and under glazing, the frames in good overall condition with minor general wear-and-tear. The paper is in good condition with no visible tears or creases or signs of deterioration. The reclining female has some small spots of faint discolouration on her chest.
