A Chinese robin's egg-glazed vase Incised Yongzheng mark, Qing Dynasty Of pear form with everted rim, the slightly spreading foot ring pierced with two apertures, covered with a mottled pale blue glaze suffused with copper red, the foot rim dressed in dark brown. 28cm high PROVENANCE: Private collector acquired in Hong Kong, 1969, thence by descent to the vendor. FOOTNOTE: A gummed paper label on this vase suggests that it was at one time retailed by John Hawkins of Henley-on-Thames. Hawkins Emporium was a china and glass retailer in Henley, established in 1867.
