China War Medal 1900, impressed naming to "G.W. CHILDS PTE, R.M.L.I"

Naval Medal Award rolls show George William Childs (CH/10633, Royal Marine Light Infantry) was at North West Fort Taku from 30th June 1900 - March 1901, following the Battle of the Taku Forts. Childs was born on 13th June 1869 and first enlisted on 13th July 1889. His earlier service included on HMS Indu, Bellerophon and Comus before re-joining in September 1899.
