Two similar Chinese carved and painted hardwood temple lion groups (later converted to lamp bases), each with figures astride large lions, carved in the round and decorated with a painted and gilded finish, one topped with a hexagonal plinth support and a bakelite mount above a scrolling rectangular base with incised decoration, 34cm high, 24cm wide (maximum), late 19th / early 20th century.
