SARUM (SALISBURY) PRIMER, 1555. The Primer in Latin and English (after the use of Sarum) with many godly and devoute prayers, as in the contentes doth appere. Whereunto is added a playne and godly treatise concerning Masse, and blessed Sacremente of the aulter, for the instruction of the simple people. Imprinted at London, by John Waylande at the signe of the Sunne, 1555. Small 4to. Title in excellent facsimile. Lacks a total of 12 leaves: original title, Bii, Biii, Eiii, Eiv, Fi, Fii, Fiii, Fiv, Oiv, Pi, xiv (blank). Gi and Gii top corners torn away with loss of a few words. Black Letter, printed in red and black throughout, woodcuts in text. Cut close at top, just shaving a few headlines. Early 20th century plain calf binding by Riviere, gilt edges. With a book containing facsimiles of the missing leaves, bound in goatskin (2)
