Yvonne Mottet was a French artist who was part of the 'Jeune Peinture' movement and School of Paris, studying under Francois Desnoyer. In 1927 she joined the drawing studio at Rue Tourlaque founded by Ducharne Silk Works together with her husband Bernard Lorjou. During the Great Depression the studio closed and couple enjoyed independant artistic success based in Paris. In the post World War Two period Mottet argued strongly for a return to realism, rejecting abstract and contemporary style art.
