A scrimshaw whale tooth 19th century of a ship, with top sail pennant inscribed 'enirahtaC', cracked, 13cm. A ship named Catherine owned by S. Russell (1811-13) was launched in 1811 at New Bedford and made one voyage transporting convicts from England to New South Wales in 1813, in 1816 it had returned to England and returned to the whale fisheries around New Zealand shortly afterwards.
