WW1 King's Royal Rifle Corps medal trio

King's Royal Rifle Corps, First World War. A medal trio to "Y-873 PTE. P. J. MARSHALL K.R. RIF C." comprising British War Medal, Victory Medal and 1914-15 Star.

Private Percival James Marshall. 3rd Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps. Marshall attested on the 1st of September 1914, aged 21 years and landed in France on the 21st of December 1914. On the 20th of November 1915, he was discharged due to being no longer physically fit for war service. His conditions are listed as frostbite, rheumatism and neurasthenia (shellshock). His illness originated in France on 27th January 1915, after being under constant heavy fire for six weeks. He was subsequently sent from the trenches to the hospital and spent time both there and in convalescent homes before being discharged.
