Paintings and Prints Specialist

Abigail has been with Halls since Spring 2019 and runs the Paintings and Prints Department, with a focus on Modern and Contemporary Art. She holds a Masters with Distinction from Universiteit Leiden as well as a First Class Honours Bachelor Degree from Durham University. Abigail previously spent a number of years working in the museums and heritage sector within the UK and Netherlands, and strives to combine her background with her approach to auctioneering, seeking to curate her sales and having a more academic lean within the catalogues.

Having established and built up the bi-annual online Modern and Contemporary Art auctions which have gone from strength-to-strength Abigail is looking to increase the number of single owner collection and studio sales in the auction calendar at Halls and looks forward to working with more contemporary working artists. Abigail has a particular interest in Welsh Art, which has become a very strong and staple part of the Paintings and Prints auctions with consistent results for artists such as Kyffin Williams, John-Knapp Fisher and Paul Martinez-Frias.

Abigail has big plans for the Paintings and Prints department, looking to grow our offering of specialist curated sales focusing on various art movements and areas of European and British Art. Watch this space!
